MIT Technology Review is excited to announce the release of an all-new inspiring class of 35 Innovators Under 35, whose innovations are expected to tackle some of the world's most critical issues. For over two decades, MIT Technology Review has developed the 35 Innovators Under 35, which recognizes the top young scientists, entrepreneurs, and engineers from around the world breaking new ground across artificial intelligence, climate change, biotechnology, computing and robotics. This year, our expert team of journalists sifted through 550 nominations during a months-long process and evaluated them alongside forty-four expert judges–some of them former innovators–to select the finalists.
The 2026 honorees include a researcher focused on helping prevent vision loss as we age, a founder developing more efficient chips to help recycle energy for data centers, and an entrepreneur working to teach AI agents about the intricacies of our world to help them make future decisions.
Each honoree's story highlights how they are tackling unique problems, the challenges they've encountered, and how they envision bringing their new solutions to life.
Over the years, the coveted 35 Innovators Under 35 has honored individuals who have gone on to profoundly shape our current tech landscape. Past honorees include Instagram's Kevin Systrom, Spotify's Daniel Ek, AMD's Lisa Su, and AI pioneer Ilya Sutskever.
"This list is a great way to explore some of the most promising recent advances in science and tech, and find out who's behind them," says Amy Nordrum, executive editor at MIT Technology Review. "These young people are driving real progress, and they're worth watching in the years ahead."
