DeepSight Technology, Inc., a company developing a Physical AI platform for interventional medicine, announced the appointment of Scott Huennekens to its Board of Directors. Huennekens brings decades of experience building and scaling medical technology companies, with a track record spanning image-guided therapy, surgical robotics, and digital surgery.

His appointment follows DeepSight's completion of a Series C financing and comes as the company advances its technology platform, expands strategic partnerships, and prepares for its next phase of growth.

"Scott has helped build some of the most influential companies in interventional imaging and surgical robotics, and he understands what it takes to translate breakthrough technology into clinical adoption," said Nader Sadrzadeh, Co-Founder and CEO of DeepSight Technology. "At DeepSight, we are building a Physical AI platform that brings together sensing, imaging, and intelligence to give clinicians greater awareness and precision inside the body. Scott's experience and perspective will be invaluable as we advance that vision and scale the business."

Huennekens previously served as President and CEO of Volcano Corporation, leading the company through its 2006 initial public offering and its acquisition by Philips in 2015. He also served as President and CEO of Verb Surgical, the surgical robotics venture formed by Google and Johnson & Johnson, which was subsequently acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2020. Earlier in his career, he served as President and CEO of diagnostic imaging company Digirad. His experience includes extensive board leadership across public and private medical technology companies.

"The next generation of interventional medicine will depend on giving physicians a more complete understanding of what is happening at the point of treatment," said Scott Huennekens. "DeepSight's approach to combining advanced sensing with imaging and AI creates a compelling opportunity to address that need. I see significant potential for this platform across image-guided interventions and robotic procedures, and I look forward to working with Nader and the team to translate that potential into meaningful clinical and commercial impact."

DeepSight is developing technologies designed to provide real-time information about instrument position and surrounding anatomy during minimally invasive procedures. Its NeedleVue™ technology focuses on precise instrument-tip localization, while its OnPoint™ technology is being developed to enable ultrasound imaging from the perspective of the instrument tip. Together, these capabilities support the company's vision of connecting physical sensing with actionable intelligence in interventional medicine.
