Stramaglio Consulting and the TWAIN Working Group are collaborating with Arizona State University (ASU) through its Capstone program to support the development of Open Interoperability Technologies (OIT) for the rapidly evolving era of IoT and AI. The ASU Capstone program was introduced at the Executive Connection Summit (ECS) 2026, where the opportunity to connect students with real-world industry challenges was presented to the technology ecosystem. The TWAIN Working Group subsequently submitted a project supporting OIT.
The first project, “AI-Powered Document Routing and Monetization Analytics,” will be developed by an ASU student team under the direction of Handoyo Sutanto, Founder and CEO of Lyrid. The project will explore AI and imaging technologies and produce a proof of concept with potential real-world business applications.
“I really enjoy teaching and mentoring students,” said Sutanto. “This is a great opportunity to work with talented students on a real-world technology challenge and help them understand not only the technology, but how it can create value for a business.”
The collaboration demonstrates the power of corporate–academia partnerships, giving students practical experience while introducing emerging talent to companies and technologies shaping the future of the industry.
Mike Stramaglio, President of Stramaglio Consulting, sees the initiative as an opportunity to leverage the broader ecosystem to benefit both students and industry.
“I’m excited about leveraging the ecosystem we’ve built to do some good,” said Stramaglio. “Students get meaningful, real-world projects they can use to demonstrate their capabilities, while companies get an opportunity to discover and engage with the next generation of talent.”
Stramaglio also created the Talent Zone, a free matchmaking service connecting job seekers with companies looking for talent.

Early versions of the ASU student projects will be shared at the TWAIN Converge Conference, November 11–12, 2026, in Safety Harbor, Florida.
Additional and final ASU Capstone projects will be showcased at the Executive Connection Summit 2027, February 28–March 3, 2027, in Scottsdale, Arizona, providing industry leaders with an opportunity to see firsthand how students are applying AI, imaging, IoT and robotics to real-world business challenges.
The collaboration is expected to lead to additional student projects supporting OIT initiatives across AI, imaging, interoperability, IoT and robotics.
